Sunrise in August out of Sebastian Inlet, Tarpon assaulting schools of pogie inside the surf line. We passed through the inlet right in time for sunrise. The ocean was flat and glassy as there wasn't a breath of wind. I turned north, running about 50 yards off the beach on our search for pogies. It didn't take long before we had a bunch in the live well and were off along the beach to search for Tarpon. Most of the fish we saw were in the 100 lb. range.

We came upon a school of pogies being assaulted by several Silver Kings. Bob hooked up a frisky pogie on his 20# spin rig and cast to just the outside edge of the school. Within a few seconds, Tarpon on! We fought and chased the fish for an hour and a half and a mile offshore before we got it to the boat. We estimated his weight around the 125 lb. range. Not bad for 20 lb. test!
